
Born in Atlanta, Georgia and raised in Culver City, California, 19-year-old Chanel Iman has already achieved the title of fashion's newest "it girl". Discovered by Ford Models in the 2006 Supermodel of the World Competition, Chanel immediately boosted to fame. After her first runway appearance in the Fall/Winter 2006 DKNY show, Chanel soon found herself walking for top designers such as Dolce & Gabbana, Issey Miyake, Marc Jacobs, Valentino, Dsquared, Hermès, Michael Kors, Oscar de la Renta, Ralph Lauren, Anna Sui, Diane von Fürstenberg, Vera Wang, Jean Paul Gaultier and Stella McCartney. Along with her tremendous runway success, Chanel has also bean featured in advertising campaigns for Bottega Veneta, GAP, Victoria's Secret Pink, and United Colors of Benetton and appeared on the cover of Vogue, i-D, Teen Vogue, Time Magazine Style & Design, Lula, Page Six Magazine and more.
In October 2007, Chanel appeared with her mother on an episode of the Tyra Banks Show. Impressed by her poise and ambition, Banks quickly took Iman under her wing becoming a mentor to the young talent, who has quickly gained momentum among the fashion elite. Chanel has since been credited as the muse for designer Phillip Lim and also appeared as a fashion correspondent on MTV's House of Style. A likely fixture on style and entertainment blogs alike, Chanel has carved out an impressive career for herself with a bright future in the industry that transcends well beyond her 5'10" stature.
