
Allan Ellinger has over 30 years of diverse experience in the apparel industry. He is the founder and the Senior Managing Partner of the Marketing Management Group, an investment banking and strategic advisory practice established in 1989.
Allan began his career in retail while still in college. Shortly after graduation he moved to the manufacturing side of the industry. At age 24, he became a corporate vice-president and assistant to the Chairman of Intercontinental Apparel, the American licensee for Pierre Cardin clothing and sportswear. During the eight years he spent at Intercontinental, he helped pioneer the development of Designer Clothing and the concept of Collection Sportswear. In subsequent years, he was a founder and partner in Alan Flusser, Inc., president of multiple divisions of Biderman Industries and President and CEO of Basco All American Sportswear.
He has a thorough understanding and expertise in all aspects of the apparel industry, including sales and marketing, manufacturing and international sourcing, financial planning, corporate and trade finance, organizational development, corporate infrastructure and domestic and international licensing.
During the past nineteen years, he has helped to shape and position MMG as a preeminent investment banking and strategic advisory practice providing a wide range of services to the apparel, textile, accessory and home furnishings industries. The firm has developed a substantial reputation and expertise in mergers and acquisitions and corporate repair and restructure.
Allan is the founder and Chairman of FASHION DELIVERS, a recently established charity that coordinates the contribution of new products from the men’s, women’s and home furnishing’s industry to disaster victims. He is also a former president of the Designer’s Collective, a former member of the Executive Committee of the Men’s Fashion Association and the Executive Committee of the Fashion Roundtable. He has taught courses and lectured at fashion universities and has written numerous articles regarding the state of the apparel industry.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing and Management from Hofstra University.
